Sarnath Stupa

Sarnath Stupa - Where Buddha first taught.

After visiting the museum, we walked around the grounds at Deer Park. At the stupa, we circumambulated the stupa and then sat in the grass to meditate. Many pilgrims were lighting candles.

Later a group of monks sat in a ring around the stupa. One man walked in front of the monks and handed money to every other monk.

We then walked to the new temple (vihara). I didn't pay the 20 rupees at this site to take pictures inside, so I only have outside pictures as monks chanted.
