I'm here in India...and I love it!!

I got out of the car with all of my bags and walked into the airport.  As I looked around, I noticed that everyone was wearing a coat.  I looked down at my shirt sleeves and said, "Oh, no!"  ....I left my jackets hanging over the back of the seat in the car which was long gone.  Oh well, I pulled out my wool shawl and threw that over my shoulder thinking that would have to do.

more than I wanted to carry
Up at the check-in counter I was told that my rolling bag couldn't be a carry-on.  I was given my small black bag and told to put all the contents from the rolling bag into the black one and vice versa.  They didn't care that my laptop stuck out of the black bag and in fact, I got to carry-on 3 bags instead of two!

I met up with Sam and Kelly and off we went through security.  I forgot to empty my water bottles during the second check-in at Heathrow, but the security person was nice enough to empty the bottles for me and hand them back to me.  I then went to the bar and had them refilled!

In Delhi, we stayed at a hotel and had a little sleeping time and some meals.  Our train was canceled and so we had a little time to go shopping at the Cottage Industries Emporium.  Unfortunately, once we arrived there, we received a text telling us to return quickly!  We were all re-booked on another train and away we went again!

Getting our bags from the vehicles to the train was quite an ordeal.  Amit, our tour guide enlisted the help of some porters and they were amazing!  We all got sleeper bed compartments and I got the top bunk.  I had lots of fun swinging up and jumping down, like a monkey!!

We got off one stop early and had a nice lunch.  Then a two hour bus ride to Varanasi and to our hotel.  A very posh hotel this time with hot water and a wonderful buffet of delicious Indian khana!
