Game 7: Baladitya vs. Tathagatagupta
Game Final: Buddhagupta vs. Sakraditya
Tournament day 4 brought the crowds for this thrilling final match. Venerable P. from Thailand greeted the players and made a surprise announcement making a 10,000 rupee donation for next year’s tournament. With the waving of the flag, Venerable P started the game between Baladitya and Tathagatagupta. Among the distinguished guests in the audience this day were the Honourable Justice--Shri R.N.Prasad, Nalanda District Magistrate--Shri Sanjay Agarwal, sponsors (Hotel Sarvodaya)--D.N. Singh and Anupama Kashyap, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara Vice Chancellor--Dr. Ravindra Panth, sponsor (Chinese Buddhist Temple)--Venerable Pannylinkara, and retired Nalanda principal--Shri Anand.
A fast, well played game between Baladitya and Tathagupta ended with Tathagatagupta taking the win. During the first round, the Tathagatagupta Budhiya successfully stole home. The Baladitya Budhiya attempted this same maneuver to no avail during the second round of game 7.
Ashutosh Kumar of Team Tathagatagupta was “Man of the Match.”

The long awaited final game between the Buddhagupta and Sakraditya teams was fraught with disputes over plays and scoring as each team vied for the trophy. Time outs were called to contest rulings against players who may have come too close to the boundary lines of the playing field or budhiya circle. Despite these clashes, the teams played strong and hard as the whistle was blown each time a player one after another was tagged out. In the end, Sakraditya earned the Jarasandha Trophy and the title of Budhiya Kabaddi champions. Chandan Kumar was “Man of the Match.”

The Buddhagupta team won the runner-up prize and Shashi Kumar earned “Man of the Series” award. The Best Buddhiya of the Tournament trophy was awarded to Sumeet Kumar from Sakraditya.
