Fatehpur Sikri was constructed by the Mughal Emperor, Akbar, in 1570, to honor Sufi Saint, Shaikh Salim Christi, and served as the capitol city of the empire from 1571 to 1585. The Mughal architecture was a combination of Indian, Persian, and Islamic architecture.
